Advocates For The Exploited
And Silenced
Reality TV provides us with entertainment to escape our lives by watching real-life dramas unfold on our TVs. While the content is enjoyable, you may not realize how much exploitation goes on behind the scenes.
Many cast members are treated poorly, subject to inhumane working conditions, sophisticated psychological manipulation tactics and a threatening atmosphere- all for little to no pay.
Cast members often leave shows mentally distraught with nowhere to turn. When past cast members have attempted to speak up, they are subject to threats of millions of dollars in lawsuits from the industry that makes millions off of exploiting them.
Watch UCAN founders Nick and Jeremy talk about their experience filming Love is Blind with the labor advocate nonprofit, More Perfect Union.
HOW WE HELP
The UCAN Foundation partners with a network of mental health and legal experts to ensure cast members have the resources to make informed decisions and to seek help in a safe and supportive environment.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
We all enjoy Reality TV because of who is in front of the camera, the cast.
But these same people get little to nothing of what you pay streaming services to watch them.
It's time support the cast instead of the companies who exploit them.
If you enjoy reality TV, please consider donating.
Every dollar pledged goes directly to providing advocacy and professional services support to vulnerable cast members who have been cast aside by the networks making billions off their backs.
OUR VISION
By providing professional advocacy for Reality TV cast members, The UCAN Foundation strives for a future where cast members are:
Provided with adequate mental health support before, during and after production
1
2
Given full transparency on the details of production requirements and operations prior to committing to being filmed
Fairly compensated for their contribution at a value that considers revenue generated from the program
3
Protected from retaliation and threat of retaliation for reporting abuse and exploitation
